One of our other favorite “so bad it’s good” movies is 2013’s Ghost Shark. I have to admit that it’s one of my favorite shark movies. A bunch of Rednecks kill a shark to win a contest. Somehow its ghost comes back for revenge. A group of teenagers gets together with an old lighthouse keeper (Richard Moll) to try and stop it.
House Arrow Blu-ray
If you are going to show your kids a horror film for the first time…this is the one to show them. I think that is the perfect way to sum up 1985’s House, the next movie on my list of 1980s horror everyone should see, and Arrow Video makes it easy to enjoy with their terrific HD release.
Young Frankenstein
There’s nothing better than a good horror parody and Young Frankenstein (1974) is one of the best. It’s a Mel Brooks movie, so how can it not be?
The Evil Dead – my brother’s favorite movie
The Evil Dead. …who doesn’t love that movie? Written and directed by the great Sam Raimi and starring the man himself, Bruce Campbell. It’s low-budget horror at its 80s best, and the one that started it all!
12 Kilometers – a short film by Mike Pecci
12 Kilometers is a short film by writer/director Mike Pecci. It’s dark, trippy, freaky, scary, and uncomfortable and I liked it. The movie was completely different than what I was expecting.
Bloody New Year
Bloody New Year is a British horror/comedy directed by Norman J. Warren. All I can say is WTF??? If you like schlock then you’ll enjoy this.
